Back to Euclid!

One of the obstacles I face is also what I would give for a math lesson. Shortcuts are easy and do almost all people are using textbooks alone. I do not want to wear this, with the first bad experience at school.

Many homeschoolers abroad suggest using a book of Saxon Publishers. Unfortunately this book is hard to find, in Singapore not exist, must order via online. The price is quite expensive. Philosophy brought by the Saxons, is incremental development, which means that mathematics is taught from the most simple, the more difficult then stacked on top of it like building a pyramid. And every subject in mathematics is not taught separately as is commonly practiced, but an integral. So for example, when children learn trigonometry, he is also working on a matter in which he must combine the new skills he acquired trigonometry by the scale of the map for example, by working on the triangle to the size of miles.

But unfortunately because of the difficulty obtaining this book for a while I tried another approach, that is pure geometry. Who else can be referenced in addition geometry, Euclid.

The approach of Euclid after attempted was very different from the teaching of geometry now. He teaches geometry WITHOUT NUMBERS! So we berabstraksi with long and wide. Equipment used only two, a ruler without a scale and long. Children are trained to approach ngoprek all Euclidian geometry concepts can think of Euclid. He was taught how to draw right angles, dividing the angle into two equal angles, proving Pythagoras theorem without using numbers, drawing a perfect pentagon, with only with a ruler without a scale and long. First of all a bit difficult, but the old, can enjoy as well.
